Sir,

ON ISRAEL’S OWN ADMISSION OF HAVING NUCLEAR WEAPONS

We, the Central Youth Committee of Islamic Party of Malaysia (PAS Youth), Angkatan Muda Parti Keadilan Rakyat, Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia, Pertubuhan Jamaah Islah Malaysia and GAMIS are seeking your immediate attention on Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s open admission that Israel is a nuclear weapon state in an interview with German N24 Sat1 TV recently. We are convinced that is not a mere slip of tongue, but on the contrary it is the most direct revelation of a long kept-secret, long ignored by UN Security Council about Middle East real weapons of mass destruction stockpiled by the favored State of Israel.

This has been further supported by the statement during the U.S. Senate Confirmation Hearing on the 5 December 2006 from the incoming U.S. Secretary of Defense, who is also a former CIA chief, Mr Robert Gates that that the Jewish state has the Middle East’s only nuclear arsenal.

We would like to draw to your attention time and again, that weapons of mass destruction are nowhere to be found in the obliterated Iraq as the whole world already knew, neither will you find them in Iran nor will you find them in Syria. But you, under the banner of UN Security Council, UN 1540 Committee and IAEA will find a stockpile of nuclear arsenal in Israel with utmost certainty as it is widely believed that the Israelis has currently amassing between 250 to 500 nuclear weapons in its arsenal.

Israeli envoy called Asians “the yellow race”

Israeli envoy to Australia publicly called Asians “the yellow race” in a newspaper interview. What a racist statement. It seems that the Zionists are free to call others racist names but they themselves are immune from criticism. They indeed rule the world by proxy.

Israel replaces envoy to Australia

srael is sending a new ambassador to Australia, the Foreign Ministry announced Thursday, replacing an envoy who was widely criticized for calling Asians “the yellow race” in a newspaper interview.

The Foreign Ministry said it was replacing Naftali Tamir, who drew fire in Israel and Australia and a reprimand from his superiors in October.

“Israel and Australia are like sisters in Asia,” Tamir had said, explaining why Israel and Australia should cooperate. “We are in Asia without the characteristics of Asians. We don’t have yellow skin and slanted eyes. Asia is basically the yellow race. Australia and Israel are not, we are basically the white race.”

Tamir later denied making the remarks.

Mark Regev, a Foreign Ministry spokesman, would not give the reasons for the decision to replace Tamir. When asked whether Tamir was recalled prematurely, Regev declined comment.

The reentry of regional rivalries

Ghassan Khatib

One of the most prominent features of Palestinian politics after the election victory of Hamas is the return of the influence of regional forces on the internal Palestinian scene.
Such influence was one of the major problems in Palestinian politics until the departure of the PLO from Beirut and later its return to the Palestinian territories. Since then, regional influence waned in favor of growing influence of the Palestinian public on the politics of the different factions.

The election of Hamas with its regional and Islamic agenda opened the door to the influence of countries like Syria and Iran. In turn, this development is likely to bring other factions, especially Fateh, closer to rival countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia and their ally, the US. In other words, competing Arab, regional and international forces have made their reentry into Palestinian politics.

The sharp increase not only in the rhetorical involvement of Iran in the Palestinian cause, but also its substantial financial support of Hamas and its government, is evidence of that new and dangerous development. Syria, which has been under growing American pressure, has in turn found in its relations and influence on Hamas yet another card to add to Iraq and Lebanon in maneuvering out from under this pressure.

The growing influence of the external Hamas leadership, which is based in Syria and financially supported by Iran, also complicated the internal Palestinian political scene and contributed to the deadlock in the internal dialogue. It is ironic and interesting that the main response to the initiative of President Mahmoud Abbas for early elections came from Damascus, where the opposition factions led by Hamas met. Only after that did Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh reject Abbas’ initiative. It is also interesting to note that the deputy prime minister presented a milder reaction to the initiative.
